Kitty Teasley, 91, of Durham, North Carolina died on Thursday, January 8, 2015, in her home surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Charles Eugene Hartman and Gertrude Gaither. She was descended from Gertrude Gaither, William Henry Gaither, Elijah Gaither, Zachariah Gaither, Benjamin III, John IV, John III, John jr, and John Gaither.
She was an integral part of her parents' owned Hartman’s Steak House. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Arthur Winston Teasley, Sr., and by siblings Isabelle Crank, Joyce Norman, and Gene Hartman. She is survived by her son, Arthur “Bubby” Teasley, Jr. (Bonnie) of Wake Forest; four daughters: Julia Teasley of Chapel Hill, Gertrude Byrd (Joe), Mary Jane Clark (Jim), and Cathy Teasley all of Durham. Grandma will be missed by her nine grandchildren: Artie Teasley, Andrea Owens (Peter), Cindy Fox (Tim), Randy and Michael Byrd, Natasha and Rainbow Teasley, Kelly Kovalesky (Ed), Scott Clark (Jaime) and nine great-grandchildren, Kendall and Cole Teasley, Nina Early, Grant and Erin Fox, Grace, Griffin and Kenley Kovalesky, and Clara Clark.
Burial was in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Durham, North Carolina. Donations may be made to Emergency Chaplains, PO Box 14762, Durham, NC 27709.
